Aubrey's Sweet Baby Shower

   August 3rd 2013

Aubrey's Baby shower day is here!!

Lots of work and preperation has gone into this day.

I spent hours the night before at Kirbys house prepping food and hours that week

getting all the crafts complete that I wanted for decor that day!

I made Tissue balls, a burlap banner with Ave Grace's name on it, along with spray painted mason jars and chalkboard stickers for details for the food and drinks!

It was an adorbable shower!!

DIY Bulletin Board

I have been wanting to make a Bulletin Board for AWHILE now.

And a friend of mine sent me over a new blog to start following and she had made the cutest bulletin!

So I used some of her ideas and came up with my own that would match my house design and color!

Weekend Update

This weekend was the best!!

Friday we went and walked on the Big Four Bridge downtown.

( It was a surprise late night car ride = Sweetest Hubby )

Then Saturday we went to Jim Beam!!

It was so fun to tour the facility and see how each bottle is created and prepared with the shelves.

Along with a quick stop at Bernheim Forest to waste some time before our Tour.

The forest was so pretty, we cant wait to go back when we have more time to hike and see some wild life!

Sunday was a relaxing day with dinner at the Inlaws.

Monday I took off to take my baby to the doctor, no worries just a well visit. :)

But it was nice to have a longer weekend with my love.

A Gift for You and a Gift for Me :)

Tuesday Night was Annie's birthday!!

It was a fun celebration, we had chinese food and yummy cake!

She openned presents and got home cute stuff!!

I wanted to share what I bought her because I think they are pretty cute!

And then the gift I got myself also :)

Then Below for me another Bracelet, ( the one on the far left is the new one from Loft) I have become obcessed with collecting braceletsas I have mentioned before.

Babysitting the McCuties!!

Last Night I babysat  Katie and William so that the Parents could have
a Date Night!!

We colored, played hide and seek and watched Peter Pan with Popcorn YUM!
Its always fun to watch this cuties.

William is inlove with his blankets he is a snuggler,
so after I took the picture above he wanted me to take a picture of him
and his blankets on the chair. You cant really see the blankets but they are there, he is sitting on them!!

Dress Up



This weekend was pretty low key.

Friday night we went to see our close friends who are pregnant and due in just a little more then five weeks now. It was nice to see the nursery and catch up before the baby is here.

Saturday Nathan worked in the morning so I cleaned and ran some errands.

Saturday afternoon there was a knock on the door.

It was Sweet Katie, we had colored the night before and she was bringing me the pictures.

She came in and hung out for a bit, then went home to get her princess dress up dresses, and then her big box of dolls. We had fun playing dress up and with her princess dolls.

This little girl is to smart and a joy to be around!

Sunday was a chill day, much needed before a busy week ahead!!

Thursday July 11



We were hopeful that when we woke up on Thursday that we would have our power back.
To my surprise we did not, so when my alarm went off for work, I was like Not going to happen look at this hair! haha
So I went to my car so that I could charge my dead phone to e-mail my boss and let her know I wouldnt be in to work today. And then off to get breakfast with my hubby and borrow his dads generator so we could at least power our refrigerator.
Then Home for a nap, barely slept the night before.
I finally decided to call LG&E and they said it could be Friday before our power would be back on. :(
I went to work with Nathan for the day , because I could cover my hair with a Hat with that job!!:)
By the time we returned home after 4pm the power was BACK!

We spent some more time with our neightbors last night because they are my fav kids ever!!!

No Power!!

 There was an awful storm that came through on Wednesday and allowed us to lose power.. oh YAY!

This never happens to us so we were not happy haha, I guess you can say Spoiled.

But we decided to make the best power outage we could by playing outside with our niece and nephew and the guys played basketball and we ended the evening on the front porch, please outside was cooler then inside our house at that point.

Alex & Ani

I always find myself with a new obcession

almost every few months..

Lately its the collection of bracelets

and this time I wanted them to be bracelets that meant something

to me or represented something that is important to me.

My best Friend Lauren told me about the brand Alex and Ani

months ago..

I fell inlove with her collection she had began collecting.

I decided last month that I would start my collection with the

"Love Wrap".

This "Love Wrap" symolized Optimisim, Bliss and Affection

all things that I acknowledge that I need in my life Daily.

So when I fell inlove with the look of the bracelet and then the meaning

I knew this had to be my first purchase.

It came earlier this week and since I have worn it daily.

With two friendship braclets that a friend from work made me and one that I made myself!!

(I really just like to make things.)

So on this quite Fifth of July I thought I would share my First of Many Alex & Ani's!!



P.S. I have also been working on painting some old wicker chairs to possibly put on our fabulous Front Porch my Hubby built us.

I put the first coat of brown paint on them Tuesday Night already a HUGE difference

I plan to finish them this weekend, Weather permitting!!

DIY Burlap Wreaths

So like my husband says

When I find an interst it can become an obcession

but to me this little obcession with DIY

is my new HOBBY!!

I love it!

So this week I wanted to make some Burlap Wreaths for the Home.

I needed a great summer wreath for the front door and then I thought it would be sweet

to make a mini to hang indoors on our decorative door that separates the dining room

from the family room!

First I started with the Front Door Wreath because I knew it would take more time

and patience with it being my First wreath EVER.

So I went to Pinterst like most of us do these days, what would we do without that website..its lovely.

I found a great pin that showed me step by step how to make a burlap wreath and the supplies I would need to successfully create this burlap vision I was going for!

So then I went to Hobby Lobby another place I dont know if I could now live without haha

and picked up my supplies, listed below is what I needed for the wreath!

One wire base, size of your choice, I went with 22'

Burlap of your choice

Wire stringa

and

a wooden "M"

I already had a glue gun, and metallic stray paint which I also used.

Then I sat down and began

it took sometime to actually figure out what I was supposed to do

but once I figured it out it was smooth sailing from there!!

I added the Chevron Ribbon and Bow and my Painted M to complete the Look!!

I am so happy with how my First Wreath DIY turned out!

Its now displayed on my front door!!!

 

Then of course since I was on a roll last night

I decided to go ahead a do the mini wreath as well!

 

These were the main supplies, Teal Burlap, and a Burlap Magnetic Flower
I also used some chevron ribbon that I had recently bought!

The Completed Mini Wreath above now hangs in my house and it really makes me happy!! :)

My husband likes them, and told me not to get carried away!! :)

 

Last night before all this DIY maddness

we went to dinner with my Parents which was nice.

When we got home the kids and Jared were outside so we went and chatted and played for a bit.

Katie was playing with sidewalk Chalk

I decided to write our names, Jenna, Katie, and William

in bubble letters on their driveway.

In amazement after I had been talking to the guys

I turned back around to see that she had done the same thing

bubble letters and ALL!!

I was Impressed and I think  you will be too!
